Prosecutors will have to prove not only that Salman knew about her husband’s planned attack but that she intentionally associated with or contributed to it.
David Haas, a former federal prosecutor based in Orlando, said prosecutors are relying on two main points.
The first is the statements she made, whether to the FBI or through text messages, and the second that she actually went with him to case other locations, including to a gun range before the shooting, Haas said.
