With jury selection beginning this week, the long-awaited trial of Markeith Loyd might soon get underway. Loyd was supposed to be tried in May, 2020, for the alleged murder of Orlando Police Lieutenant Debra Clayton; however, the trial was postponed due to COVID-19.

According to Orlando’s WESH TV, Loyd and his attorneys are planning on using an insanity defense and will say that Clayton shot at Loyd first.
