Haas Law obtained a sentence of probation for our client, the owner of a concrete company in a federal harboring of illegal aliens prosecution in Ocala (Middle District of Florida).
The company unknowingly hired dozens of people who had an unlawful status in the United States and paid its employees millions of dollars in salary. No malicious treatment of the employees occurred and the company performed exceptional work over its operating history.
The client resolved the case by agreeing to a plea which was limited to a substantive violation and also limited the number of employees who were knowingly employed out of lawful status to the owner’s three siblings.
Haas Law is happy with the outcome and glad to see the client avoid even a single day of jail.
