Federal drug cases can be complex both in terms of facts establishing guilt, defenses, and sentencing mitigation. In September 2022, Haas Law represented a client deemed a “career offender” in the Northern District of Florida (Tallahassee) who faced a Sentencing Guidelines range of 292-300 months.
David Haas worked on the case for 14 months. At sentencing, multiple witnesses and extensive mitigation was presented. The client received a downward variance of 196-months – over 16 years – and was ultimately sentenced to 96 months (8 years).
Haas Law is grateful that the client placed his trust in our firm. While any prison sentence is still a difficult conclusion, the client was very pleased with the result. While case results are independent from other cases, the effort that goes in to securing results is consistent. It takes hard work each time and for each client.
